I bought this windup #stopwatch at a vintage shop (Weavers Way Mercantile). It seems to work perfectly, aside from the one time the hands got stuck for reasons I wasn't able to replicate.

Strangely, while the minute hand is minutes as expected, the larger hand doesn't measure seconds, it counts hundredths of a minute. Does anyone know why you would want hundredths of a minute instead of seconds? I haven't been able to find a search term that turns up any info.

I don't buy things very often, and almost never buy things I don't actually need, but after watching Unrest (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unrest_(2022_film)) I decided I really wanted a mechanical stopwatch and on ebay there are TONS of mechanical stopwatches and I won an auction for one (with a very low bid) and they sent me it from Ukraine and now I have it and it works and I can hear it and I love it.

When I say #ExcelsiorPark made watches for industry I really mean it! Their "Totalisator" measured the duration of an operation as well as counting the number of cycles. These stopwatches were used to bring about modern production methods in factories after World War II, but this advanced model came out in the 1960s.
