I really need to learn more activist Cantonese and Mandarin: two old Chinese ladies asked me what the rally was for, and I could not explain. They were genuinely curious and I wish I could have been able to tell them in either language. Unfortunately the words I know for queer things are negative and I know there is more updated language I should sit down and memorize.

Energized from going to the trans rally. The drag queen organizers urged for everyone to have conversations with all. Including those who disagreed. We had a moment’s silence for Heklina, queen of San Francisco, recently deceased. There were many tears. I saw a woman cycling in a suit, carrying a newspaper article about how she almost died in a men’s prison and was reborn and determined to live her life as Lyn.

The abuses against trans people worldwide have to stop.
