I'm someone who had more than one gun pointed at my head - in BC, Canada - by so called RCMP 'law enforcement' for nonviolent protests. I still returned to face off with the corporate mercenaries who threatened me. I am not scared off by colonizers or their minions. I get angrier & return to fight back.

If you don't understand my war survivor history, my family's(on both sides) multiple war traumas & my longtime activism in BC history - you would not understand why I am so committed to fights for justice & why I loathe ongoing colonial violence.

Thomas Gallaudet, Congregationalist minister, founded a school for the deaf. A town known for benevolence will be more exalted than being good at commerce or the arts.

And it would be quite fair that this reputation is what many modern cities take great pains to avoid: being seen as generous to the homeless or refugees? Easily, flatly, opposite of Gallaudet.

How can you support benevolence and good-will towards the unhappy?
