Good, a small win against mass-surveillance - there is absolutely no justification for scanning everyones private images, due to the ills and perversion of a few.

Die Chatkontrolle geht in die wohl letzten zwei Wochen. Jetzt entscheidet sich, ob am Ende doch noch ein fauler Deal kommt.

Wichtig bleibt:

Keine Massenüberwachung.
Kein Aufweichen von Verschlüsselung.
Keine fehleranfälligen (KI-)Scans privater Nachrichten.
Keine Alterskontrolle durch die Hintertür.

Wer jetzt mit Abgeordneten, Ministerien oder Journalist.innen spricht: Bitte deutlich machen, dass Chatkontrolle nicht „gelöst“ ist. Sie ist weiterhin gefährlich.

Im besten Fall können wir bald aufatmen. Im schlechtesten Fall müssen wir sehr schnell mobilisieren.

Friendly reminder that privacy isn't all or nothing.

You don't have to go full tinfoil hat, build a bunker, delete everything and live off the grid to give a damn about it. It's a mindset. A slow change in behavior over time that fits YOUR life.

• You don't have to build a Faraday cage but you also don't have to share your location with every app that asks.
• Don't post your real name, birthday and location everywhere.
• You don't have to swear off every digital payment forever but you also don't have to hand your card details to every random site you visit just because the checkout flow made it easy.

What works for me might not work for you. And vice versa.

It's not binary and you're not failing just because you're not doing everything. Every piece of information you DON'T give away is a win
