The Heritage Foundation has put their backing into KOSA, a bill that pretends to shield kids from content. The reason? Using KOSA as a vector to block abortion information access.
What was this about kids again?
Also, the House version recently updated the 'language' of the bill, but the point still stands: it's a censorship vector *that has nothing to do with kids*.
And the House will be considering a vote. So yeah, go nag your representatives and tell them you ain' down with that.

- mandate age verification through third parties, a practice that is ripe for exploitation
- tear apart LGBT+ resources by classifying them as "lewd"
- mandate censorship filters -- imagine not being able to upload shit because the filter thinks it is sexual, when it's not

Yesterday, the Senate passed the censorship and surveillance bill titled the “Kids Online Safety Act,” or KOSA. We've been warning against this bill for over a year, alongside Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations.
The bill's next stop is the House for final passage. The House is currently in recess; we don't know when the bill might come up for final passage. So now's as good a time as any to call your Representative and let them know: KOSA will harm kids, so vote no on this bill.

KOSA (the "Kids Online Safety Act") is a gift to conservatives, who have already said they plan to use it to censor any and all LGBTQ+ content from the internet. They'll make the entire internet a Florida-style "don't say gay" zone.
