Sedum sarmentosum, or Stringy Stonecrop, is native to East Asia. These plants were established in the nooks and crannies of a retaining wall near my house many years ago. Their trailing stems erupt from between the bricks each spring and persist through the summer. I’m always excited to see the delicate yellow flowers that appear in June!

I built a bin shed with green roof 18 months ago. Pleased with how it has turned out. Sedum/ Petrosedum rupestre has started to dominate and I will thin it out and plant a few plugs of other things in this autumn. Bees love it though. #greenroof #sedum #petrosedum #stonecrop #pollinators

It's definitely #sedum season! This Chinese #stonecrop started as a single 2-3" cutting from a potted succulent arrangement a few years ago. Now it's the size of a couple pizza boxes, and I'm using cuttings from this one to fill various gaps around the backyard.
Can't believe how hardy this is, given our #Memphis winters have been getting down to 0F or lower since I planted this. #garden
