Joe is a hard working representative (and former CU Regent) who is a tireless advocate for wildland firefighters and our fire community. He truly is one of the good guys. I'm proud that he is my representative in Congress.

The Stone Canyon Fire is currently 1,548 acres with 0% containment. Over 120 firefighters are currently on the ground with 37 trucks on scene. Air support will continue throughout the afternoon.

One person dead (found in a burned home), 5 homes destroyed per press conference w/ sheriffs and fire folks (governor too).

#StoneCanyonfire update: Residents in parts of northern and western Lyons have been given the all clear to return to their homes.
Evacuations have been lifted in some areas, and residents can go to boco.org/infomap to check to confirm if they can return.

Jul 30, 8:47 PM EDTIf you are impacted by the Stone Canyon Fire and need a place to stay overnight, a shelter is available at the Foundation Church at 1380 N. Denver St., Loveland. Small animals (e.g. cats and dogs) can be with their owners.
The evacuation point at the Boulder County Fairgrounds remains open as a gathering place, but is not currently being set up as an overnight shelter.

Jul 30, 7:43 PM EDTAll large animal or livestock evacuations need to go to the Jefferson County Fairgrounds (15200 W 6th Avenue, Golden). The Gilpin Fairgrounds are not open and the Boulder County Fairgrounds are at capacity. Small animals (e.g. cats and dogs) can go to the Longmont Humane Society or to the Boulder County Fairgrounds with their owners.
