Just got back from my #EAA #Experimental #Aviation chapter meeting.
Presenter was Mike Babcock, who built a full-competition Badlands Traveler and traveled the USA last season competing.
Runs a full-race Yamaha snowmobile (snow machine?) three-cylinder engine with massive turbocharger. Gets off the ground in about 30' and lands at 50' "if he does it right."
Went thru 3 engines last season, T/O power is 9800 RPM. He did not disclose T/O horsepower. Typical racer.
