@KissAnne reminded me of this #movie #StockholmBloodbath just seen at the #BIFFF2024 : https://www.imdb.com/title/tt18163814
#BIFFF2024 #StockholmBloodbath intéressant du point de vue historique, mais hélas très romancé et avec des libertés de ton qui font sortir de l’ambiance d’epoque tellement cela ne colle pas.
#movie #cinemastodon #festival

Today I learned about the Stockholm Bloodbath. It's amazing, like Game of Thrones without gratuitous boobs, but it was real. Let me mangle the fun facts for you in a delightfully amateurish way.
To set the scene, there was this thing called the Kalmar Union, which was basically all the Scandies banding together for financial and military gain. But by the 1500s it had become Denmark and those states that did what Denmark said, and Sweden wanted to Brexit. There was a kind of war about it. A lot of patchy battles with kind of peace in between. (1/3)
