  1. Black Metal Legends Interview

Harald was interviewed by Dev Gohil for his Black Metal Legends series on YouTube. While the focus of the interview was the early days of Stigma Diabolicum and Thorns, they also got to talk a bit about Imbalance, how things are, and what we’re up to next.

Dev was kind enough to let us also mirror the video on our own PeerTube channel so you can watch it without feeding the surveillance machine. You can watch the interview below.

You can also find the original on YouTube, of course.

Thanks a lot to Dev for a nice long chat, and the trip down memory lane.

  2. It's been in the works for quite some time, but finally the re-release of the Thorns and Stigma Diabolicum demos by Kyrck Productions are available for pre-order. The most interesting part of this release, at least for me, is the new artbook CD edition, which includes a 36 page booklet where both me, Bård (Faust) and Marius have written about our memories from these early days of what was to become Norwegian Black Metal.

The booklet also contains several photos from those days, taken by me, Snorre and other friends at the time.

If this is interesting to you, head over to SPKR media to pre-order the release:

There's also several vinyl variants, and a casette variant, but as far as I know, only the CD version has the booklet.

    Enjoy!

  3. I'm doing a writeup for the new release of the Thorns and Stigma Diabolicum demos by Kyrck productions. That takes me down a rabbit hole of old tapes and some of the earliest recordings I was ever part of in the late 1980's. Not everything is suitable for the public, but I'll try to put together a website with the most interesting stuff at some point.

This is the tape I received from Snorre Ruch, that contained a few sporadic guitar riffs, the Redrum Psychosis demo from Per Bergersen, and two of the songs from the Stigma Diabolicum demo Luna De Nocturnus, sometime early 1990, I think.

Of course, only labelled "Music" and no other information at all. That, and the eclectic collection of randomly organized recordings was very typical of him at the time.

It's fun to listen to this stuff again after all these years.
