#MeaCulpa Full disclosure of a very dubious ancestor. Made his fortune as a 'tax collector' (sic. 'enforcer') in #tamil_nadu (formerly #Madras #State) #Sth_India. Returned home having 'made' his fortune working for the #East_India Company. Yes, slaves, sugar, tea, coffee, spices etc. The 'family' once owned much of #South #Devon, from Haldon Ridge to #Torquay & the toll road to #Plymouth (A30). I know 'unto the 7th generation' but still a weight I carry.
