#SteppingStonesSongs, or songs that are good starters for a genre/subgenre, easing curious ears in to the particulars of that style of music is the topic, suggested by @lpl, for Kitty's #TuneTuesday.
What about #ProgMetal? The genre is diverse enough to have several entry points, based on sound alone. The Most Accessible door:
#CoheedAndCambria: Gravity's Union
This opens to The Mars Volta, Thank You Scientist, and Closure in Moscow.

Today's Tune Tuesday theme from @lpl is "Stepping Stones Songs" - songs that are good to introduce someone to a genre or subgenre of music.
I've got an odd one.
Christian Hip Hop is a subgenre of Hip Hop that...well, a lot of people ignore. And I get it. Artists talking about their Christian faith in hip hop or any music doesn't really have universal appeal. Again, totally understand.
But, if you'll indulge me (cause that's what this hashtag is about)...Lecrae's "Welcome to America." https://song.link/s/3YAUHKKgknXXpPKvczjNdf

Well, I think this week's #TuneTuesday theme, #SteppingStonesSongs, is truly great! It's sure to open up lots of opportunities to try new things. Thanks @lpl!
As a (former) drummer, I enjoy challenging drumming, which is why #Meshuggah and #Djent have been my thing for a few years now. Since the genre can be quite difficult to listen to, I always recommend Demiurge as a starting point.
The song is catchy, incredibly heavy, and, while showcasing typical polyrhythmic characteristics, it's not quite as complex and fast as others.
