It continues to amaze me that I have this thing in my chest. It's a stent keeping my aorta nice and open; I have congenital heart defects, and the stent is helping out with that. (X-ray from Monday: it's been a week...).

24. Lt Commander Cavit was the original First Officer of the USS Voyager. He was not happy about Tom Paris' presence aboard Voyager and did not know how to brace for impact.

I am still upset that Enterprise got cancelled after 4 seasons, right when it was getting really good.
We need to make Paramount Plus give us 3 more seasons.

Das ist ein ziemlich geiler OP-Tisch. Genauer gesagt Modell 1130.02 Ausführung MO (Mobile Säule) des Herstellers #Maquet aus #Rastatt in Baden-Württemberg! Mit Kopfverlängerung (der Tisch fährt immer höchst dramatisch in die Diagnosekammer) -aber ohne jegliche Polster!!! Die wurden nach der Pilotepisode verbummelt.

Enterprise was a brilliant concept, tying together our spacefaring history with Star Trek and imagining how a NASA-like space program plus warp on the way to Star Trek might look, and how the four founders of the Federation struggled and finally came together. It has brilliant actors, costumes and sets. Even the Xindi species were a cool concept.
And then they wasted three seasons on the awful awful Temporal Cold War, a big bundle of bad and incoherent ideas.
After a 20-year break I am now watching Season 4 and it is brilliant. It's everything I expected and felt robbed of when I first watched the series.
The song is great and fits well with the lo-fi, contemplative atmosphere and pacing.

I 💓 that Boimler mentions the S/COMS operating system in dialogue in #StarTrekSNW's "Those Old Scientists"⬆️. S/COMS, apparently in use in the 22nd and 23rd centuries, is an acronym for "Spacecraft Operations and Management System", briefly legible in #STENT's "First Flight"⬇️.

S4Ep20 + S4Ep21 of #STEnt are a two-part story about eugenists / xenophobes lead by a single-minded mad-man. Parallels to… oh, several points in history… are fairly clear.
★★★★☆ for both: they really zoomed past in a good way.

Because by this point, #STEnt was cancelled but allowed to complete the season, I suspect they decided to have as much fun as they could. S4Ep18 + S4Ep18 reflect that (forgive me) with a two-part ‘mirror universe’ story.

Every single male of around my age, prior to Leia Organa, had a wild fantasy about green skinned babes. S4Ep17 of #STEnt honours that.
★★★☆☆ for wit and taking the plot beyond merely a sight gag.

S4Ep14 sees the end to a powerful weapon.
S4Ep16 + S4Ep17 covers curing a rapid pandemic for Klingons, and curing a misbehaving warp engine by turning it off and on again!

Two episodes of a 3-part #STEnt arc (it’s like all of Season 4 is 3-parters).
S4Ep12 + S4Ep13 are all about common causes, loss, and respect for everyone’s cultural formalities.
★★★★☆ for both.

S4Ep10 doesn’t work for some reason. Maybe it needed a bigger question like “if you could pull anyone back from death?” ★★☆☆☆
S4Ep11 is a bit better, examining the results of non-involvement. ★★★☆☆

Didn’t post this last evening owing to falling asleep watching, so went right to bed.
#STEnt S4Ep08 + S4Ep09 wrap-up a 3-parter quite well. The quality of story I’m — ironically — taking on faith due to not seeing the last 15 minutes or so. ★★★★☆

Back to #STEnt S4Ep05 where the Augments are led by their ‘father’ to find their unborn siblings. ★★★☆☆
S4Ep06 has mutiny among the ranks, leading to failure. ★★★★☆
S4Ep07 sees an Earth Embassy on Vulcan destroyed by terrorists. Or is it…? ★★★★☆

S4Ep04 has fine premise with sun-par cinematography, acting, and writing. Disappointing start to 3-part story arc. ★★★☆☆
