  1. Now open for registrations: short course on single molecule techniques in molecular #biophysics, as part of the #MOSBRI network. This course is hosted at the University of #Groningen by our colleagues of the molecular biophysics group. NOTE deadline: Sept 15th for registration! Course itself is in early November: mosbri.eu/training/end-user-sh Topics: #microscopy #AFM #superresolution #STED

  2. Tim Salditt (twitter.com/SaldittLab, substituting Jasper Frohn): #Multiscale #Xray Phase Contrast #Tomography at #GINIX/P10: Concepts, Implementation and Applications

    - fantastic collaboration with the P10 team
    - directly comparing #STED to #Minflux; old #confocal? not worth mentioning 😂
    - overview tomo, then zoom-in
    - tumorous human pancreatic tissue #biopsy: quantify the #tumor type
    - from electron density to metrics, quantify fibres etc.
    - #hippocampus patho punch, #Alzheimer sample

  3. Are you unfamiliar with the terms #STED, #PALM, #STORM, #SMLM, #MINFLUX, & #MINSTED, but would you like to learn more about these #superresolution #microscopy technologies🔬? If so, then you should check out #StefanHell's #Lindau presentation 🤓 Enjoy👉 mediatheque.lindau-nobel.org/r

  4. I came across this #microscopy paper. nature.com/articles/s41587-022
"By blue-shifting the #STED beam and separating #fluorophores by on/off switching, individual fluorophores bound to a #DNA strand are localized with σ = 4.7 Å, corresponding to a fraction of the fluorophore size, with only 2,000 detected #photons ."
This image showing resolution below the size of the fluorophore leaves me speechless.
    The paper features images of #DNAorigami, #NuclearPores, synaptic #Vesicles, #ECM (#laminin) and #vilmentin
