  1. @nanianmichaels Can confirm it's a lot more comfortable! I only used a Jaguar controller briefly back in 2017 - but it was greatly uncorrectable.

This new Steam Controller on the other hand is very good! The way the grips feel very natural, the thumbsticks is a huge step up from my previous controllers (namely the 1st gen Steam Controller and the Logitech F310), and I play a game I usually use a keyboard and mouse for (Hardspace: Shipbreakers) to force me to use the trackpads: and it felt very natural having my thumb interacting with it... Honestly Valve has done a cracking job on the ergonomics of this thing! :apartyblobcat:

Also the bumper buttons I MUCH prefer over the Steam Deck and the F310 - the travel of the button, and the satisfying click press it is just so good! :akko_excited:

  2. Huh they opened reservations about 15 seconds early;

Got mine about 10 seconds before 19:00 local time (German summer time)

  3. Okay real talk: I can't be the only one that has noticed that the 2nd generation Steam Controller looks similar to the controller from Atari's failed Jaguar console. :neobot_laugh_sweat: This is something I noticed immedietely when Valve unveiled this new Steam Controller and I cannot unsee the resemblance! 😅 :blobcat_flop_woozy:

  4. I was able to buy a Steam Controller 2

    Date of arrival: "eventually" 😂
Eh, no biggie, I'm in no rush.

  5. I like the idea and I was expecting second generation of Steam Controller. Most likely I'm going to buy it.

But here's my take about one of the points I heard in early reviews.

Integrated battery isn't "modern". It's a "oh shit, now I need to charge my controller" or "it's battery degraded and now I have to keep the cable close". I hate this about "modern" controllers. Steam Controller (1st gen) and XBox One S controllers were cool because you could just swap rechargeable batteries in half a minute and continue playing in wireless mode.

But in other aspects it's still a great controller. Those touch pads and configurable back buttons is what an entire industry lacks. And that's why I'm still planning to buy it despite this change.

  6. Hey if you guys see the #SteamController2 become available, spam the hell out of me. Thanks!

  7. I wish #Valve would let me #PreOrder the #SteamController2 - As the owner of Multiple of their hardware products, I am confident enough to extend them that vote of confidence.

  8. Confused about the placement of these touch panels. Do they really not get in the way?

  11. Valve arbeitet an "Ibex": Geleaktes Renderbild zeigt Steam Controller 2 mit zwei Trackpads und klassischen Elementen. Design erinnert stark an das Steam Deck. #Valve #SteamController2 winfuture.de/news,147098.html?

  12. This would be my one wish if valve were to make an #steamcontroller2 is that it should actually save the input mapping within the controller. My Logitech #G502 does this and it's why I love that freaking mouse.

To understand, I use the controller for movement and mouse for aiming. Feels way more comfortable for me when gaming and my wrist doesn't hurt. #Hybrid #Controls ftw!

Idk is there a controller that allows you to store custom mapping within it?
