Enjoying a chill night on the sofa, as I have for years at New Year. In my new velvet trousers with silver embroidery on the bottom (Joe Brown, I love you), purple nail polish and all three cats. Lola next to me, Jasper on my mum’s stool and Sapphy on the arm of her chair. Thankfully he’s here and not still under my bed as he was earlier, spooked by the fireworks and before that the loudest thunder and hail.
