Zum #StatuenSamstag heute die 1886 eingeweihte Freiheitsstatue im Hudson River vor New York. Das Foto stammt aus einer Zeit, als die USA noch ein freiheitlich-demokratischer Rechtsstaat war und man problemlos hinreisen konnte.

Zum #StatuenSamstag heute das Hermannsdenkmal bei Detmold im Teutoburger Wald. Die 27 Meter hohe Kolossalstatue aus dem 19. Jahrhundert erinnert an Hermann den Cherusker, der um 9 n.Chr. drei römische Legionen unter dem Feldherrn Varus besiegte.

🇫🇷 Voici un des monuments les plus curieux qu'il m'ait été donné de voir : la recevresse devant la basilique d'Avioth (55-FR) surnommée la basilique des champs car le village est assez petit et cette église est immense et semble perdue au milieux des champs comme on peut le voir sur la seconde photo.

🇬🇧 The "recevresse" in front of the basilica of Avioth (FR) is one of the most curious monument I could see. Already, such a big church in a so small village is impressive, so impressive that it is called basilica in the fields as we can see of the second photo.
