Welp. They got me again.
Last night, I heard for the first time about the audio drama series #StarTrekKhan, which tells the story of Khan's colony after the Enterprise leaves them all on Ceti Alpha V.
I was skeptical. The treatment of Khan in #StarTrekIntoDarkness left me leery of any use of the character beyond Ricardo Montalbán's portrayals. (I adore Benedict Cumberbatch, but that was an awful miscast, and the "John Harrison" plotline was bullshit.)
Also...an #AudioDramaSeries??

So a little Friday flashback: When I went to see Star Trek: Into Darkness and Noel Clarke popped up out of the bed, I exclaimed "HEY! It's Mickey The Idiot!" and at least half the theater laughed, one guy said: 'Holy shit, it is!' And another said 'So Benedict Cumberbatch is the Doctor in this?' 😆 Good times! #startrek #startrekintodarkness #NoelClarke #DoctorWho #mickeytheidiot

last night I watched #StarTrek2009. I'm now settling in to #StarTrekIntoDarkness
I'm watching these movies mostly for completionism, but I finished the first one with the feeling that I was not the target audience
like, I'm neither brand new to the concept of Star Trek nor a longtime fan with decades of nostalgia, which are the two groups that I assume they were making these for

Happy #TrekTuesday!
Kirk: "Where shall we go?"
Spock: "As a mission of this duration has never been attempted, I defer to your good judgement, Captain"
Kirk: "Mr. Sulu, take us out"
Sulu: "Aye, Captain"
-
McCoy: "Tell me, are you feeling, uh, homicidal? Power mad? Despotic?
Kirk: "No more than usual"
-
McCoy: "Oh, don't be so melodramatic. You were barely dead"
-
Scotty: "Engineering to bridge. Mr. Spock!"
Spock: "Mr. Scott"
Scotty: "Sir, you'd better get down here. Better hurry"
-
Spock: "In your travels, did you ever encounter a man named Khan?"
Spock Prime: "Khan Noonien Singh is the most dangerous adversary the Enterprise ever faced. He is brilliant, ruthless, and he will not hesitate to kill every single one of you"
Spock: "Did you defeat him?"
Spock Prime: "At great cost. Yes"
-
Kirk: "Tell me everything you know about that ship"
Khan: "Dreadnought class. Two times the size, three times the speed. Advanced weaponry. Modified for a minimal crew. Unlike most Federation vessels, it's built solely for combat"
-
Spock: "You will meet resistance, requiring personnel with advanced combat abilities and innate knowledge of that ship. This indicates that you plan to align with Khan, the very man we were sent here to destroy"
Kirk: "I'm not aligning with him, I'm using him. 'The enemy of my enemy is my friend'"
-
Khan: "My crew is my family, Kirk. Is there anything you would not do for your family?"
-
McCoy: "You know, when I dreamt about being stuck on a deserted planet with a gorgeous woman, there was no torpedo!"
-
Kirk: "Scotty, its Kirk"
Scotty: "Oh, well now! If it isn't Captain James Tiberius Perfect Hair!"
-
Happy #TrekTuesday!
McCoy: "You don't rob a bank when the getaway car has a flat tire"
Kirk: "And enough with the metaphors, all right? That's an order"
-
Spock: "Thank you for requesting my reinstatement"
Kirk: "You're welcome"
Spock: "As I am again your First Officer, it is now my duty to strongly object to our mission parameters"
-
Marcus: "You here tonight represent the senior command of all the vessels in the region. And in the name of those we lost, you will run this bastard down. This is a manhunt, pure and simple, so let's get to work"
-
Pike: "The first time I found you was in a dive like this. Remember that? You got your ass handed to you"
Kirk: "No, I didn't"
Pike: "That was an epic beating. You had napkins hanging out of your nose"
-
Pike: "You don't comply with the rules, you don't take responsibility for anything, and you don't respect the chair"
-
Pike: "You have any idea what a pain in the ass you are?
Kirk: "I think so, sir"
-
Pike: "Are you giving me attitude, Spock?"
Spock: "I'm expressing multiple attitudes simultaneously, sir. To which are you referring?"
-
Spock: "Such action violates the Prime Directive"
McCoy: "Shut up, Spock! We're trying to save you, damn it!"
Spock: "Doctor, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few"
