So, two of the candidates running for our town's selectboard have teamed up. They emphasize #CriticalThinkingSkills , #OpenSpaces , #CommunityGardens , and #ResponsibleGrowth . Guess who is getting my vote! (And one is the selectboard member neighbor who helped start up the #CommunityGarden and getting #Composters and #Rainbarrels for our town).

This is hitting too close to home to feel complacent about the lack of #SocialHousing
“An Indigenous woman, living in one of the wealthiest countries in the world, gave birth to twins in a tent. One of those babies died. In a tent. Where their parents were living, because the waiting list for social housing in their area is up to seven years. The Sydney Morning Herald’s Amber Schultz has reported nearly 700 people are on the social housing waitlist in Wagga Wagga, a city with fewer than 70,000 residents.” (Source: https://www.thenewdaily.com.au/news/politics/australian-politics/2026/05/06/baby-tent-housing-interest-rates )
One in a Hundred without a decent roof over their heads. Think about that as if one of them was you.
If the federal Govt is inept at solving the #HousingCrisis problem in the #Riverina electorate, then let’s elect a representative who will push an inept #NSW #Labor govt to step into the breach. And while we’re at it, let’s make sure the local #Councillors we elect to the #WaggaWaggaCouncil also have #Housing front and centre on their mind.
We can be better than this folks. We don’t have to put up with the crap we’re given by those love-sick on power at any cost. Think about our community, the whole of our community when you vote next time in #Federal or #State #elections. This is not about you or me, it’s about all of us in the Riverina. Safe housing, free healthcare, and social services delivery must be foremost on our minds. The other things that are making our lives miserable we can overcome once we’re all safely housed and in better shape to do somthing about them. Because of course we must, all of us, do something about them too.

#Earth4All #Argentina: Young people confront today’s challenges through debate
At a time when social and environmental crises are deepening, this initiative shows that young people are not just aware of the challenges—they are ready to lead the transformation. The real challenge is to listen to them and make room for their voices in the creation of truly transformative public policies.
5 June 2025
"On 9 May, young people between the ages of 18 and 30 gathered simultaneously in #Córdoba, #BuenosAires, and #Tucumán to take part in the workshop 'Understanding the present to build the future we want,' part of the Earth4All Argentina National Engagement Strategy led by the #ClubOfRome – Argentinian Chapter.
"Organised in collaboration with #FundaciónAlimentaris and #JóvenesPorElClima, the workshop was part of the participatory process of the National Participation Program (NEP), an initiative aimed at gathering diagnostics, experiences, and proposals from local communities to influence public policy. Its goal is to collectively adapt the international Earth4All model to local realities. The model warns of the urgent need to move away from the current path, described as '#TooLittleTooLate,' and to move toward a '#GiantLeap' centred on #social and #EnvironmentalJustice. This transformative agenda is structured around five turnarounds: #EradicatingPoverty, #ReducingInequality, #EmpoweringWomen, transforming #FoodSystems, and driving the energy transition.
"The workshop brought together university students from the host cities, #grassroots and #EnvironmentalActivists, and civically engaged youth eager to influence #LocalPolicies and practices. Facilitated by Jóvenes por el Clima, the event was organized around two main dynamics: first, introducing the foundations and challenges of the Earth4All model; and second, mapping specific local issues and working in thematic groups aligned with the model’s five pillars, with the aim of #CoCreating concrete proposals grounded in the experiences and voices of #YoungPeople."
