  1. TransLink in partnership with the City of Vancouver and Park Board is proposing a new weekend-only seasonal bus route around the perimeter of Stanley Park.

The bus route is designed to make nature more accessible by providing direct connections to destinations around Stanley Park, helping reduce parking demand and vehicle congestion in the park.

Complete the survey by May 31, 2026 to provide input on the new proposed transit route:

  2. This is a sad, but at the same time kind of inspiring story about a man who has lived in Vancouver's Stanley Park for 30 years. His home is being dismantled today. He hasn't decided or said where he's going to go.

his story is a testament to the power of compassion to help people.

  7. An additional image to my post yesterday - this incredible carving is hidden in plain sight, next to the concrete jungle of downtown #Vancouver. Carved into a massive trunk it feels like the face of an old tree spirit or protector of the forests here.

Whomever carved it has surely captured my imagination over multiple visits here.

  8. Football fan attacked while walking home through Stanley Park

  9. New poem, inspired by the clear cutting in Stanley Park, Vancouver, and more generally all the destruction happening in the world right now. My way of grieving I guess.

And if you want to see what's happening in the park, I posted a video (it's on Instagram though) : instagram.com/reel/DUxDw9IDk58/

  10. Had a good time in Vancouver for SIGGRAPH.

Me: That huge pile of sulphur or whatever is crazy.
    Jude: What? Oh!

  11. Flat backed millipede and springtail in Stanley Park!
Catching the millipede while it was sitting still was probably the most difficult part of this - it kept running around and making my photos blurry.

  12. Zebra jumping spider!
This was on a sign in Stanley Park, Vancouver.
Getting into photographic tiny creatures is one of the big reasons I got a macro lens. Turns out it's pretty tricky to do well (especially since I don't have a flash right now), but I thought these shots turned out at least ok!

  13. Macro Mushrooms!
It's not exactly mushroom right now, but I was able to find these small ones in Stanley Park anyway. I'm still learning to make good macro photos/edits - I wasn't as happy as I had hoped with either of these, but hopefully they're still interesting!
(People who know things about macro, please leave your feedback in the comments - would love to improve)

  14. Photos from Stanley Park/Lions Gate Bridge in Vancouver!
Pictured is the port of Vancouver, Brentwood, and Mt. Baker in the background (over the border in Washington) - and in the second picture, Lions Gate Bridge in the foreground as well.

Camera: Fujifilm X-S10 with 70-300mm lens
    Editing: Adobe Lightroom

  15. Thanks to an unfortunate experiment made by the Parks Board, we now know that removing the Stanley Park bike lane resulted in nearly 5 times more drivers travelling at speeds that are 90% likely to kill a park visitor in a collision.

  16. Taken in Stanley Park on December 29, 2020. I don’t drive and hadn’t been to Stanley Park since the previous year because of the pandemic. Friends who drive offered to take me anywhere I wanted and I asked them to take me there.

  21. Not that I expected something else from the new Vancouver Park Board, who decided to remove a bike lane from Stanley Park in favour of a second drive lane, but am still very disappointed.

Special thanks to Tom Digby (Greens) for standing up against ABC.
