30th of November, St Andrew's Day 🏴
Not only that but the birthday of my sister and late mother. Raising a glass to all three.
My mother was born and brought up just off Pleasance, in the shadow of Salisbury Crags close to where the Holyrood Distillery is now situated. So this would seem appropriate!
"Arrival" 46.1% abv, NC, NCF, NAS
Oloroso Butts, PX Hogsheads, Bourbon Barrels, Rum Barriques
Sweet fruity notes along with darker dried fruit, vanilla and chocolate. Lovely, soft creamy smooth mouthful with all sorts of flavours bouncing around my tongue - spicy cinnamon, orange peel, rum and raisin. Warm fruity, baking spice finish and lingering toffee. Complex for what is a very young whisky. I think it's delicious.
