Happy 100th anniversary of birth to the late Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty would have been 100 today.

In honour of the occasion, here are four images, three gold-coloured (not actual gold) coins, and some art:

#Australian #Supercars legend Allan Moffat passed away today aged 83. Moffat won four Australian Touring Car Championships, four #Bathurst victories, six Sandown wins, & more than three decades of extraordinary #Motorsport achievement.

#Moffat, famously a #Ford man, had a longstanding rivalry & friendship with legendary #Holden (General Motors) driver, Peter #Brock.

Here is a piece I wrote on the 2018 XC Falcon Cobra 40 Years PMC: https://coinofnote.com/2018-xc-falcon-cobra-40-years-pmc/. I didn't mention Moffat in the piece, he drove several XC falcons. He won Bathurst 1977 in an XC Falcon (pictured). In 1978, he drove the Cobra variant (like in the PMC), securing Pole position with a record time of 2:21.59 and a speed down Conrod strait of 159 mph, although ultimate forced to retire that race with a broken engine.
