"There's a town in here?" Rodrigo asked dubiously. For the past hour, Peinam had been leading them through a wetland of reeds whose tasseled #stalks waved high overhead.

"Mmhm--we're here!" Peinam said.

The circular houses of Natalelu were formed of living reeds bent inward & tied together at the top--they looked like onion domes. A tracery of boardwalks & channels wove through the town.

"Ma, Pa, everyone!" Peinam called. "Come meet the friends I made while traveling!"

Und das tun sie oft ganz gesellig, wie im Bild zu sehen.

Here the young #pear #stalks (Lycoperdon pyriforme), whose fruiting bodies - in contrast to the otherwise very similar #bottle #stalks (Lycoperdon perlatum) - always grow only on #wood. And they often do so quite sociably, as can be seen in the picture.
