I love this time of year! Always something new to look at! Now is the time when adult stag beetles start flying out from the oak-woods in Bushey Park. This female turned up in our garden. Only 4 cm long and not as ferocious looking as the male but looks are deceptive. Those mandibles fetch one hell of a painful nip! #Insects #entomology #stagbeetles
