Yesterday I heard of Einstein’s passing. Apparently he had a severe ear infection and died during surgery. He brought a bit of fairytale magic into the world and joy to an entire city and to thousands of fans beyond. We will always remember this gentle cat who loved to make friends with strangers and came to listen to people singing.
May his memory be a blessing.

- Suma has taught my husband to understand her meowing so well, it’s unreal. When he’s not sure what she wants, he asks her to show him and she does.
- Lily loved to sing little tunes to herself. She had spent her whole life with me, had even heard me sing before she was born. She had great pitch!
- A few years ago, Einstein the #StadtKater, a famous stray, used to visit us to hear me practise. He was also seen listening to choirs.
Cats are as into our noises as we are into theirs! -
Today is a rainy day. It’s been a month now since #NotMyCat Einstein, who used to be the #Stadtkater of #Darmstadt, came to our house thinking he would be let in all wet and dirty like this! Little derp.

Einstein the #Stadtkater of #Darmstadt has not been over for a while. (The photo is from last month.) I checked his Facebook group, and found out he's moved to the country side! Our kitties miss him already. We wish him all the best, and nicer stairs to loiter on!!

Yesterday Einstein the #Stadtkater of #Darmstadt came by with the left side of his face swollen and a scab on his ear, and we haven't seen him since! I really hope he got medical attention and is home and recovering.
edit: Just looked at his Facebook fan group (should have thought of that earlier). Einstin got antibiotics from the vet and stayed at home over night!

It surely comes as no surprise to anyone that Einstein the #Stadtkater of #Darmstadt has made our place one of his many residences. We gave #NotMyCat his own water bowl and put a rug on a windowsill, though he still drinks from the bird bath, and sleeps on the dirty, cold stone steps, much to little Miss Lili’s chagrin. Or maybe he doesn’t want to get his rug dirty — Paw picture related! (Black beans, anyone?)

Cat burglar caught red-handed enjoying the spoils of his heist!!
Had the windows open for only a few minutes unattended, but that was enough for #Einstein, the #Stadtkater of #Darmstadt to rob our kittens of their catnip! We took him outside and gave him the toy, but after a few minutes he lost interest. His plunder lost its value as soon as he was allowed to have it …

Every day #Einstein the #StadtKater of #Darmstadt drops by and sits at our windows. When we meet him outside, he falls over and presents his fluff! I think he wants to adopt us.

Was woken up by squeegee noises at our window from #NotMyCat. I mean, he's cute and famous*, and we're flattered that he likes our cats, but seriously, it's not even #caturday anymore, I want to sleep in and some #sundaySilence!
Still love him though.*that‘s Einstein he roams all over #Darmstadt, sleeps in stores and Cafés, and is on tv and in newspapers, he’s the #StadtKater.

🎩 The girls on Sunday morning with their gentleman caller.

We got a peeping-tomcat in front of the window! He sat there and listened to me singing in the morning. I was worried that #Einstein the #StadtKater of #Darmstadt, wouldn't come back since we don't let him in anymore, but he still visits us.
(Early #caturday post, since I need to sleep in tomorrow!)

With a heavy heart we have to announce that #Einstein, the #StadtKater of #Darmstadt, has lost his visiting rights. During his last stay with us — several hours in cold and snowy weather — he made himself very comfortable (pictured). Unfortunately, he decided to defend his new found sofa spot against the resident cats and started chasing poor little Lily. Our cats avoided the living room for 2 days afterwards.

#Einstein the #Stadtkater of #Darmstadt visited again tonight. He left through the front door, only to appear at the kitchen window minutes later. I feel like he would like Robert Johnson telling him:
“Winter time's comin', it's gon' be slow
You can't make the winter, babe, that's dry long so
You better come on in my kitchen
Cause it's going to be rainin' outdoors” -
This huge cat came by our house and asked our cat Suma at the window if he could come in and warm up a bit. We let him in, he listened to me sing Puccini and Wagner, and 45 minutes later he went on his way again. He has visited us before when the windows were open in the summer. He is a very polite guest.
He is #Darmstadt's most famous cat. They call him #Einstein, no idea if that's his actual name. He roams the city and visits every place with an open door!
