CW: snakes in a bag, Scotland
#SSPCA rescued a #python in a bag, amongst 500 others taken in by the animal welfare organisation since 2020 (it seems many are being abandoned due to the energy cost of keeping such #pets in a Northern European country that gets cold in winter!)
They have also built a snake obstacle course in #Aberdeen (alas, there are no photos or videos of this-and it would be cool to see are STV's reporters all scared or snakes, or (more likely) a lack of budgets?

Just doin' my bit...
Second day on the trot I've found a/this lovely fuzzy hedgie-beastie outside in the daytime. Box, towel, water and free supply mealworms until the SSPCA come round.
My word, it's an honour to be able to help. Wildlife, especially hedgies, are just so precious.

5 Scotsmen have rescued Britain's loneliest #sheep , who had got stranded at the foot of cliffs since 2021 in #Brora #Sutherland in the Highlands. She was checked over by the #SSPCA and found to be in good health will go to an animal shelter to recover 🐑
She would weigh about 70-80 kg and had to be carefully hauled up the mountain with heavy equipment!

Even #snakes are hard bastards in #Glasgow #Scotland - this cornsnake got free for a whole year *and* survived the winter, someone found him in a residential area of #Airdrie and handed him in to the #SSPCA who traced his owner (he is now back home) 🐍 🏴

@RussCheshire Absolutely agree! #RSPCA #greenwash of #toxic #salmon #aquaculture #farms is a shameful stain on their reputation and credibility.
As someone who (for my sins!) used to be part of the #FishFarming #industry in #Scotland I believe that nothing about the current #corporate #multinational business model is #sustainable, or #fish #welfare friendly.
#RSPCA_assured badge is a complete con of consumers.
I doubt very much if #SSPCA would stoop so low for #filthyLucre from filthy fish😡
