  1. Mein #Squier Jaguar (Medium Scale) #Bass hat gestern am Ende der Probe einfach den Geist aufgegeben. Tot.

  2. A former bandmate and I were texting each other this afternoon. He shared photos of a couple of really nice basses he picked up recently, so I sent him this photo of the one I scored back in September. I’m not the biggest fan of Precisions, but I couldn’t resist the beautiful color with—and this is crucial—the matching headstock. I just think it looks great; makes me smile every time I see it. I rarely gig with it, but I love it just the same. #Squier #Precision #Bass

  3. Now that it has had a couple of days to acclimate to the NJ climate, I gave the new toy a partial setup (kept the old strings on) to get the action and intonation fixed.

This will likely never be my daily driver, but I definitely have time for a basic, old-style #PrecisionBass. It’s a #Squier with a color scheme that’s exclusive to Guitar Center. Supposed to be Sonic Blue, but to me it looks more like Crest Green.
Love the matching headstock! Very pretty bass.

  4. A little googling, a little soldering and a bit of praying... New pick guard and humbuckers successfully installed on the Mustang HH #Squier #GuitarMod

  7. Recording gear (most of the main stuff). Shure SM-58 Mic’d-up Orange Tiny Terror combo, Ibanez bass, Epiphone Casino Coupe & my main Squier Thinline Tele. Pedal boards 1 & 2. #guitarpedals #guitars #music #musicgear #orangeamps #fender #squier

  8. fret leveling #guitar
#squier guitar fretwork in factory was lousy. Guitars these days are very cheap, but you need to do a lot of work to make them playable without fretbuz

  9. Good news it fits in a 335 case! Not a perfect fit but nothing a towel or T-shirt can't fix :)

  11. After Lyle is DANTE. Dante is a #Squier Jagmaster that I acquired from a local shop kind of on a whim. I ended up making layaway payments on it for like ten months, but I was thrilled the day I finally brought him home! This is another one of my go-to guitars for pretty much any situation. I've heard mixed things from others about the Duncan Designed humbuckers that came installed, but I've never had any problems with them. It's kind of a funny guitar in that sometimes I want to play really soft clean things, but other times I want to tune it to drop C and chugchugchug. This guitar also spends a lot of time in weird math rock tunings. Being Jaguar scale it's incredibly comfortable to play because the strings feel so slinky, so I think that's a large part of what draws me to it.

Fun story: I lent it to a friend in college to do some recording and it came back with some yellow gunk on the pickguard that I've never been able to remove. At this point it just serves as a reminder of younger days!

  12. For all those #guitar players still having trouble spelling "#Squier by #Fender" correctly: here's your new logo.

    You're welcome.

  14. Got the strings, nothing much more exciting to report.

My bassist coworker has a bass with PJ-bass wiring, near as I can tell, with 2 volumes and one tone, no switches.

Looking for how to wire it that way with the humbuckers on my guitar. Not sure if the PJ wiring gets the 'humbucker' from what looks to me like 2 single pickups, or is the humbucker built in to the bass pickups that have two cores per string?

I'll need to buy pots and if necessary a switch not so concerned there just would like to order once.

Have found a limited selection of guitar wiring diagrams that are specific like a typical electronic diagram. Most seem to be pictogram style and those are less helpful in understanding how this stuff works. So if you're hanging onto a stash of full-geek wiring diagrams quit bogarting.

I think I'm going to have to do it like a balance/volume/tone perhaps that's the ticket.

Maybe this is time to pull some hashtags

  16. I played my new to me Squier '51 and then played my nice custom partscaster Tele with Fender pickups in it. Whoops. I think some upgrades and mods are in order for the '51. #Guitar #GuitarTalk #Squier #Fender
  17. Posted a pic of one of my #Telecaster axes yesterday, but here’s one of all three. Left to right: #Fender, #Squier, #G&L (the Fender’s a US model, the others are imports). They all play and sound great - I always stress to other players how important it is to learn the ins and outs of adjusting and maintaining one’s gear.
