  1. Deep water your veggies in the heat! 🌱 It builds strong, deep roots, making plants resilient. Tomatoes, squash, and peppers especially thrive with this method. Less wilting, more harvest! #DeepWatering #GardenTips #Heatwave #vegplotter #gardenplanner #squarefootgardening

  2. 🌟 In late May, snap peas are the stars of the garden! Sweet, crisp, and perfect for snacking or adding a fresh pop to any dish. Pick them fresh this month for the best flavor. #MayHarvest #SnapPeas #EatSeasonal 🌱🥗 #vegplotter #gardenplanner #squarefootgardening

  3. Ditch the chemicals and let nature do the heavy lifting! 🐞 Biological pest control turns your garden into a balanced ecosystem where ladybirds feast on aphids so you don't have to spray. Better for the soil, better for the bees, and perfect for your #squarefootgardening layout.

  7. Had these volunteer Korean sweet potatoes come back up in the garden over the summer, so I let them do their thang. I’m a little late harvesting them, but they look beautiful! Now time to wash them off really good and let them cure before sharing with friends and family. #gardening #zone8a #DecaturGA #squarefootgardening

  13. Planted my cool-weather crops: chard (Ruby Red and Giant Fordhook), beets (Touchstone Gold and Early Wonder), and carrots (Danvers 126). I tried to lay them all out like the square foot gardening book says, but the carrot seeds blew in the wind so they'll just come up wherever this year.

Also have some volunteer dill (a bit early; we'll see if it survives) and some carrots that sprouted mid-winter!

  14. What is wrong with this tomato plant?

Edit: Thanks for all the great replies! Seems to be nutrient deficiency, so am rectifying that but also treating for fungus etc when it stops raining.

Gardeners, has this tomato plant got mosaic virus? Should I cut my losses, throw out all affected plants and buy some more?

  15. After gardening for what feels like 100 years, I have my first raised garden beds. I have completely over planted but it's fine, I'll start pulling some over the larger ones soon. This is just the cool weather crops. The tomatoes, peppers and such are on standby and will be planted out shortly in the bare areas.

  16. I accidentally stumbled across a particular style of gardening.

See, I'm preparing some raised beds, 3 that are 4x4 feet, 1 that's 2x4 feet, and the boat works out to about 4x6 feet.

So I browse about online and learn of #SquareFootGardening and for whatever reason it tickles my (possibly ADHD) brain.

It's simple, organised and efficient, plus there's already plenty of ideas and examples.
