A spell of sunshine before the next rain front hits.
The young storks are facing it with glee. Each front arrived today with strong gusts of wind that blew stuff around the yard and let the juveniles hover above the nest and practice flying without the risk of leaving and being unable to return.
Although at this point I think they're just being big chickens. One was several meters above the nest before dropping back down. You're basically flying already, mate! Get out there.

#Showers continue to move through the #Northland, but only those north of Highway 2 are reaching the ground.
It is breezy around the #BoundaryWaters/Ely area. A #Snow #Squall Warning is in effect for Highway 1 and local roads for reduced #visibility.

It isn't often that we get #Snow #Squall #Warnings issued in the #Northland, but that is the case this afternoon.
The biggest concern for a brief shot of heavy #snowfall will be along Highway 35 around the Douglas/Burnett county line.

A #clipper system brings isolated #snow #showers into the Northland Thursday night as #winds become #breezy. #Temperatures remain #mild with lows in the 20s.
Friday will see widely #scattered snow showers, as #strong winds will make a few #squall-like. Highs will reach the 30s, but the #arctic #cold and below zero temperatures return starting Friday night.

My first squall on a sailing boat. It was in Saguenay River in Quebec. The wind picked up to 80 km/h.
What's impressive is the weather change in less than 10 minutes from sunny to stormy conditions. We need to quickly furl the sails and use the engine to navigate through this event.

Overall, the #severe #weather threat in the #Northland will work from west to east during the afternoon and evening hours of Tuesday, likely in a #squall line.
The biggest threat will be strong #winds with #gusts up to and over 60 mph. #Hail up to and around 1-inch in diameter is possible.
Also a concern is heavy #rain with any shower or storm. We could see minor #flooding in spots where over 1 inch falls.
Now is the time to prepare and know what to do if severe weather where you live.

Out for a few items / errands on the bike. A bit O' weather today (#Tornado watches but mostly rumble-drizzle here) so ahh no biggie. Riding w/umbrella & tail wind lined up soooo...tacked it !
