I remember when I was taught that you could grab any lake water and drink it, then I was told to boil it, then I was told that some springs are ok to drink from still, and then told not to ever drink from natural source without boiling it first, and finally not to drink any of it at all because there could be shit and pollutants that don't diminish with boiling.

I am only in my 30's.
I know I was promised hell, but that was supposed to be after I die!
