The weather was all over the place this week. On Wednesday, it was partially cloudy with bright sunny spells (see the first two photos). On Friday, it was windy and cloudy and the perfect day for a very brisk walk (see second two photos)

First of the season! A small quantity* of wild garlic having been picked earlier, it was rinsed, chopped and blended with pine nuts, walnuts, parmesan, olive oil and lemon juice.
And it tastes good. 😋
Probably have some on pasta for tomorrow's dinner.
* 90g; about 2/3 of a dog poo bag**.
** Unused. Well, obviously.

The afternoon yesterday was just strong enough to give the blooms a luminous quality.

There was some aerial avian activity a few minutes later, to the north of Dùn Mòr on Seil.
At the top of the image is a small dark shape; it is one of a pair of peregrine falcons that had just chased a buzzard from their territory.
Nearby, a raven sat on the cliff, croaking at the antagonists; far below, small waves broke on the rocky shore.

Good morning tooters & what a beautiful morning it is. Around zero when I got up & still only 5/6c but it’s going to be a lovely 19c.
Last gym day today, I’ll miss some aspects of it but I’m happy to have my life back in my hands. I can do most of what I do there at home anyway. It was nice catching up with old gym friends who are still there too & I will miss that. Life changes though & I’m looking forward to the next chapter whatever that is.
Meeting a friend for lunch again today, I feel like I’ve been out to eat a bit this last week - not that I’m complaining, it’s lovely.

Today is the last day of winter and the first day of spring; apparently the vernal equinox was at 0306 UTC.
So here are a lesser celandine and a common daisy enjoying the sunshine.

Another day, another halo around the sun.
This time though, the weather's not to change for about 36 hours; so tomorrow should be another chance for a wander in these low hills. The Wheatear are back, and I watched a Peregrine patrolling the cliffs; three red deer hinds wandered across the moorland.
