Ok but this #Spring2023Anime season is so goood :MikuLovee:

I started Hell's Paradise, Heavenly Delusion and Dr. Stone: New World. I haven't been keeping up with them. That said, I still want to continue them relatively soon.

But as for everything else that I'm more or less caught up with, nothing has dissapointed me. Vinland Saga Season 2, Oshi no Ko, Kimi wa Houkago Insomnia, Gundam: Witch from Mercury and Skip and Loafer would all be Anime of the Season for me, in a universe in which they didn't all air simultaneously. My Clueless First Friend is probabily the weakest of the spring #anime I'm watching, and even that one is pretty good.

So due to scheduling conflicts with @station the Spring 2023 Anime Preview podcast is canceled. Life just is taking over right now, and couldn't be avoided.

So as an alternative, I forced @ScottSpaziani to listen to quick thoughts on 15 series during the normal Otaku in Review recording this morning.

The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses - Waiting for an uncensored release. Hate looking at light streaks across the screen

Yuri Is My Job! - I almost gave this a 2nd episode, but after contemplation, it will just be dumped far down the To Watch list for later consumption

The Aristocrat's Otherworldly Adventure: Serving Gods Who Go Too Far - It's so generic isekai, I'll just binge it later as mostly background noise.

KonoSuba: An Explosion on this Wonderful World! - Just wasn't as funny and ridiculous as I was expecting. I'll finish it later.

After checking out the first episode of 16 shows this #Spring2023Anime season, I have decided on what shows I want to check out episode 2 of, which ones are already stalled for later viewing, and what is currently dropped.

First off I have dropped these 3 series after only a single episode:
Magical Destroyers - Just no reason given of why I should care about these characters

My One-Hit Kill Sister - It's just blach, a one note joke, and not even good at that joke

The Legendary Hero Is Dead! - Terrible characters, humor is just characters being shitty people. Just garbage

KonoSuba: An Explosion on this Wonderful World! Episode 1

This had some funny moments, and as usual with Konosuba anime, some moments where jokes fall super flat.

I don't think I'll continue this for now, as I know I'll marathon it at some point down the road.

A Galaxy Next Door Episode 1

This looks like its going to be an adorable rom-com, and I'm sold on episode 1. I like both of the MCs, and the siblings of Ichiro aren't annoying, but pretty chill and down to earth.

I look forward to episode 2, and actually might look in to the manga as well.

After those two, I'll have watched the shows on my To Watch list. I won't be adding anything else, so no recommendations needed.

Summoned to Another World for a Second Time Episode 1

It's not amazing, but I felt the first episode did a good amount of setup in this first episode to get the viewer ready for the journey ahead.

There are moments where animation quality is suspect, but I'm intrigued enough for a second episode. As for the ecchi or harem stuff, it was light this first episode, but I imagine it ramping up as the series goes.

It sounded intriguing, but the whole Otaku culture takedown happened so quickly with no build up, it didn't make me care enough about the revolution to take it back. They needed to utilize episode 1 more for setup.

Characters are fine, animation is good, but I felt like it was a show going through the motions. Probably won't bother with an episode 2.

I went in with low expectations for this one, but I ended up finding it pretty funny. It's not great, but entertaining nonetheless.

Not sure if it will hold up for 12 episodes, but we'll see how episode 2 is once it drops.

Generic overpowered MC in a fantasy world. With that said, it was entertaining enough that I'll give it another episode probably.

But this will probably just be something I marathon down the road while I play a game or something. Doesn't require my full attention.

I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real World, Too Episode 1

I wasn't expecting much, but that was pretty damn good. Really does a great job setting up Yuuya and the shit he has endured through life. Even after he finds the other world and gains strength, his mind can't fathom anything other than what he knew prior.

I look forward to seeing more of this and how he grows. Also the quality is really good in terms of character design and animation.

This is absolutely emotional, sweet and adorable. A girl who has been relentlessly bullied (as the Grim Reaper) suddenly has her first friend in a transfer student that is 120% golden retriever energy.

I legit can't wait to watch more of this.
