Curious thing I happened upon while checking out the article @jon shared: Effective 1 May, the Správa Železnic, Czechia's infrastructure manager, will stop including the delay reason in station announcements of delayed trains. They justify the decision by saying that, since only one reason could be included (and even that had to be picked from catalog of just 14 options), the announcement cannot be "completely objective" (and, well, also the fact that few countries do it). The zdopravy journalist adds that a particular issue was that, for the purposes of the announcements, delays caused by the train finishing its previous run delayed (the German "Verspätung aus vorheriger Fahrt") were announced as "operational train operating company reasons" even when said delay was actually caused by the infrastructure manager. This must have no doubt caused a serious issue with compensation claims at some point.

Ještě jeden poznatek z Litvy a pak už dám na chvíli pokoj: jedu vlakem přes půl státu, celkem asi 6 hodin, a po celou cestu je tu stabilní LTE. Města, venkov,... pořád plný čárky.

Once upon a time there was a 🇨🇿 railway infrastructure operator with their live train tracker GRAPP. There also was a large train operator with their eshop that showed live train compositions. However, they didn't like each other much and did not connect their systems together. But then a programmer girl suddenly appeared, did some jQuery and JSONP magic, wrapped it into an extension, and finally it is now possible to view train compositions directly in the train tracker.
