Oh dear!I see the whole "#SpottedOwl" Right-Wing hysteria from the 1990's coming back over this.
(Most) #Republicans are devoid of #empathy (while extolling #Jesus... a brown-skinned Middle Eastern man who tells them to "welcome the stranger" & "care for the poor"), mocking inconveniencing people for the benefit of "some stupid birds".

Got this done on my livestream this week: a Northern Spotted Owl.
This bird has been requested *numerous* times by visitors to my booth at Friday Night Markets here in Eureka, CA. It is native to the area, dangerously threatened by other owls, and a favorite of many many folks who live here.
I had So. Much. Fun! streaming this week. It really was my happy place, and I had some awesome folks stop by and help me out. They offered me great advice, response, ideas… It was a lot of fun!
I highly encourage you to check out the livestream recordings, which I upload to MakerTube as a matter of course after each stream. I’ve started the habit of translating the recording and uploading closed captioning in German, Spanish, French, Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Hindi.

Full disclosure: I'm biased, having worked closely with a number of the section authors, but even so, especially as a transplant to Oregon, the book taught me a lot about the history and current status of ornithology and bird conservation issues in our state. And the art is fabulous.
