#spottedhyena — Public Fediverse posts

I would like to start this post by thanking the good folks at Toymany for generously supplying me with a review set to review for the blog. It is a new relationship with them and I’m very excited to partner with them.

Carnivorous mammals are certainly a major part of my collection and interests, and I am thrilled to introduce this unique set of 12 species. All of the included species exist […]

More hyenas today, it’s been a good year for fans of this family of carnivorans! It’s great that I get to add more hyenas to the blog. This figure is a lot more accessible and definitely more of a toy than my others this year, the 2026 Safari spotted hyena Crocuta crocuta. It released earlier this year, but a well-timed Amazon gift card let me grab it as soon as it showed up there! It’s […]

Lil throwback to Kubo the hyena, made in 2018! I love the opportunity to emulate specific art styles in our work, in this instance it's based off the client's drawing style, with a little bit of my style thrown in as well.

#TIL I should remember to clear the whiteboard between students.

Had my youngest student today question what the term 'pseudo-penis' was.

Told them it was above their pay grade and was able to distract them with the trumpets I had brought for today's double lesson.

No Doubt, spotted hyenas look cool and calm, but their real life activity never adds up. Do you agree?

Look at this gorgeous striped #hyena!

Striped hyenas are more elusive than the #SpottedHyena (which we also see on our #CameraTraps) and live in much smaller groups (they were previously thought to be solitary). They are caring parents - both females and males look after their pups until they are two years old, when they are old enough to fend for themselves.
