Initially, we addressed AZ and its supporters, while giving you the time and space to carefully assess the situation and take responsibility. In the meantime, you have decided that supporters of Hapoel Be'er Sheva will not be allowed to attend the match on October 15.
We recognize this as a first step. At the same time, however, the underlying problem has not been resolved: the match itself is still scheduled to take place. We are therefore not there yet.
Banning away supporters does not change the fact that AZ and Hapoel Be'er Sheva are still scheduled to face each other in Alkmaar on October 15. As long as the match goes ahead, the core of the issue remains for us.
Therefore, our message is clear: the match must be fully canceled. We strongly urge you not to make the same mistakes that were made earlier in Amsterdam. Previous events surrounding football matches and demonstrations have shown how important it is for authorities to identify risks in time, take warning signs seriously, and assume responsibility before a situation escalates.
Alkmaar now has the opportunity to learn from this and act differently. The decision to ban away supporters shows that you now assess the situation differently than before. That is an important development. But if you consider the situation serious enough to prevent supporters of the visiting club from attending the match and entering the city, it is reasonable to ask why the match itself should still be allowed to take place.
We therefore expect clarity. What specific risks do you believe are being eliminated by banning the away supporters? Which risks remain as long as the match goes ahead? And on what facts and circumstances do you consider it responsible to allow the match to take place in Alkmaar?
Our demonstration is separate from this assessment. We will demonstrate and exercise our right to publicly express our message. Do not use our demonstration as a pretext to classify the match as a high-risk event or to place responsibility for potential security problems on demonstrators.
If security risks exist, be honest about where they originate and which concrete facts form the basis for your assessment. The decision to ban away supporters is, for us, a first step. We acknowledge and appreciate that this step has been taken, but we do not believe that you have yet fully assumed your responsibility.
As long as the October 15 match is not canceled, our demonstration will continue.
We therefore ask you not to wait until problems arise, but to take responsibility now.
Show that Alkmaar is willing to learn from previous events, take warning signs seriously, and make difficult decisions when circumstances require it. We expect a transparent and concrete explanation of the basis for your decisions, and we call on you to fully cancel the match on October 15."

Inmiddels heeft u besloten dat supporters van Hapoel Be'er Sheva niet welkom zijn bij de wedstrijd van 15 oktober. Wij erkennen dit als een eerste stap. Tegelijkertijd is daarmee het onderliggende probleem niet opgelost: de wedstrijd zelf gaat vooralsnog gewoon door.
Daarmee zijn wij er niet.
Het weren van uitsupporters verandert niets aan het feit dat AZ en Hapoel Be'er Sheva op 15 oktober in Alkmaar tegenover elkaar zullen staan. Zolang die wedstrijd doorgaat, blijft voor ons de kern van de kwestie bestaan. Daarom is onze boodschap helder: de wedstrijd moet volledig worden geannuleerd.
Wij roepen u nadrukkelijk op om niet dezelfde fouten te maken als die eerder in Amsterdam zijn gemaakt. De gebeurtenissen rond eerdere voetbalwedstrijden en demonstraties hebben laten zien hoe belangrijk het is dat bestuurders risico's tijdig onderkennen, signalen serieus nemen en hun verantwoordelijkheid nemen voordat de situatie escaleert.
Alkmaar heeft nu de mogelijkheid om daarvan te leren en anders te handelen. Het besluit om uitsupporters te weren laat zien dat u de situatie inmiddels anders beoordeelt dan eerder. Dat is een belangrijke ontwikkeling. Maar als u van mening bent dat de situatie voldoende ernstig is om supporters van de bezoekende club de toegang tot de stad en wedstrijd te ontzeggen, is het legitiem om ook de vraag te stellen waarom de wedstrijd zelf dan nog wel moet plaatsvinden.
Wij verwachten daarom duidelijkheid. Welke concrete risico's worden volgens u weggenomen door het weren van de uitsupporters? Welke risico's blijven bestaan zolang de wedstrijd doorgaat? En op basis van welke feiten en omstandigheden acht u het verantwoord om de wedstrijd alsnog in Alkmaar te laten plaatsvinden?
Onze demonstratie staat los van deze afweging. Wij zullen demonstreren en gebruikmaken van ons recht om onze boodschap publiekelijk kenbaar te maken. Gebruik onze demonstratie daarom niet als voorwendsel om de wedstrijd als risicowedstrijd aan te merken of om de verantwoordelijkheid voor eventuele veiligheidsproblemen bij demonstranten neer te leggen.
Als er veiligheidsrisico's bestaan, benoem dan eerlijk waar die vandaan komen en welke concrete feiten daaraan ten grondslag liggen.
Het besluit om uitsupporters te weren is voor ons een eerste stap. Wij waarderen dat u deze stap heeft gezet, maar wij zijn nog niet bij het punt waarop wij vinden dat uw verantwoordelijkheid volledig is genomen.
Zolang de wedstrijd van 15 oktober niet wordt geannuleerd, gaat onze demonstratie door.
Wij vragen u daarom om niet af te wachten totdat problemen ontstaan, maar nu verantwoordelijkheid te nemen.
Laat zien dat Alkmaar lessen trekt vit eerdere gebeurtenissen, signalen serieus neemt en bereid is moeilijke besluiten te nemen wanneer de omstandigheden daarom vragen.
Wij verwachten van u een transparante en concrete onderbouwing van uw besluitvorming en roepen u op om de wedstrijd van 15 oktober volledig te annuleren."

Diversos estudios han demostrado que la publicidad vinculada al deporte influye en el reconocimiento de marca, las preferencias, la intención de compra y el consumo de niños y adolescentes.

Dentro del marco de la campaña Copa-Cola, el Poder del Consumidor, en colaboración con el O´Neill Institute de la Universidad de Georgetown, presentaron en conferencia internacional, el documento “La ciencia del sportwashing: cómo el marketing en el deporte afecta la salud de niñas, niños y adolescentes en la Copa Mundial”, realizado por investigadoras de la Universidad de Nueva York (NYU), sobre el patrocinio de Coca-Cola en la Copa Mundial de la FIFA 2026, así como los resultados preliminares de una encuesta aplicada a estudiantes en México sobre la percepción de este tipo de estrategias de marketing.
La encuesta encontró que los adolescentes mexicanos de entre 14 y 17 años que vieron anuncios de refrescos regulares de una marca genérica, combinados con el logotipo de la FIFA, utilizaron una proporción significativamente mayor de palabras asociadas con la salud en comparación con quienes vieron anuncios de una marca genérica sin el logotipo. Además, reportaron sentirse significativamente más cercanos emocionalmente a una marca reconocida, como Coca-Cola, frente a una marca genérica de refrescos.
La Copa del Mundo es uno de los mayores eventos mediáticos del planeta. De acuerdo con los datos de la propia Federación Internacional de Fútbol Asociación (FIFA), durante el mundial de Qatar en 2022 se estimó que alrededor de 2.2 millones de personas vieron, al menos, 20 minutos o más de este evento, mientras que el partido final de la copa tuvo más de 1,500 millones de espectadores.
Sin embargo, el verdadero negocio del mundial son los patrocinios. En 2024, la FIFA informó que el 63% de sus ingresos fueron por derechos de marketing, lo que subraya la importancia central de la publicidad y el patrocinio para su modelo de negocios.iii Dentro de este tipo de patrocinios se encuentra uno muy cuestionable: el de las bebidas azucaradas. Aunque no se tienen datos certeros, documentos de medios de comunicación y prensa especializada han estimado que el valor de los contratos entre FIFA y Coca-Cola es de alrededor de 400 millones de dólares.
Esta relación simbiótica resulta muy problemática. Mientras que la FIFA, y particularmente la Copa Mundial, representan uno de los eventos deportivos más vistos por el mundo, uno de sus principales patrocinadores es una empresa cuyo producto es completamente opuesto al deporte. Se trata de un patrocinio del producto con mayor impacto en la salud de la población nacional. En México, uno de cada
tres casos nuevos de diabetes se debe al consumo de este tipo de bebidas; en el caso de enfermedades cardiovasculares, representa uno de cada siete. En cifras concretas, se estima que el consumo de bebidas bebidas azucaradas se relaciona con 169,425 casos nuevos de diabetes al año y con 60,850 de enfermedades cardiovasculares. En México, uno de cada seis adulto sufre diabetes, y esta enfermedad, junto con las cardiovasculares, es la principal causa de muerte.–sn–

Dit is het resultaat van jarenlange inzet van Palestijnse gemeenschappen en de solidariteitsbeweging: van encampments en station sit-ins tot burgermoties en protesten in onze stad.
