Getting some help…
...but still my work... I know the AI "work" is on the rise. I know that people use it to make "quick" items, and they just copy and paste, and share it like it's their work. Sure, they typed up the prompt... But many folks don't even take the time to check that the "slob machine" has spit out... Granted, I have been using it as well. I use it to make images, to write alt texts (but I do feed the prompts, and I add personal and additional info), and occasionally to sum up things that I have gathered from different sites. But the posts that I share here, although they do contain some AI stuff, my posts are all made by me. […]https://cynnisblog.wordpress.com/2026/01/24/getting-some-help-2/

7.7: Ariel & Christina Discuss Living with a Disability as a Solarpunk
Today Christina talks to Ariel about what it's been like to live as a solarpunk with a visible - and then invisible - disability. Science fiction has spent decades dreaming of how future tech will make disabled people able to function as if they were fully abled. Now solarpunk has arrived on the scene to ask why should disabled bodies have to always be the ones to adapt? It can be uncomfortable, intrusive - not to mention expensive. Solarpunk wonders why can't cities, society, workplaces, and the like be the ones to use the tech to make themselves more accessible to and inclusive of disabled people?
Tune in as Ariel and Christina discuss the portrayal of disability in science fiction and solarpunk and how having to suddenly live with a disability opens your eyes to many of the ways cities fail people with disabilities.

I watched a documentary about H P Lovecraft the other night. He was sending his stories out about a hundred years ago. The documentary talked about how difficult it was to make a living on this alone. Then it talked about how much he got for his stories, and even without adjusting for inflation, fiction magazines paid more then than the bulk can now. That’s fucked.
I’m incredibly lucky that my husband makes enough money that I can afford to write fulltime. I don’t know what I’d do if he couldn’t. I’m too disabled to hold down a regular job. My body dictates how much work I can do. My headache today only let me start writing later this afternoon. The morning was mostly a waste. This year has not started off well for me, pain-wise. #WritingCommunity #AuthorsOfMastodon #Lovecraft #spoony #ChronicPainWarrior

I feel like I’m finally back to normal. I managed to train at the gym every day this week, and my muscles are strong again. My guts are operating the way they should, and my toothache has receded to manageable levels of pain. I wrote a flash fiction, a new chapter for my manuscript, and I did housework. I sure wish I could be this way every week, but my disabilities crop up randomly and grind me to a halt. All I can do is maximize these good days. #spoony #ChronicPainWarrior #ChronicPain #InvisibleDisabilities #FitAfter50

So, any of my followers know any PWD who live in New Mexico who wouldn't mind chatting with a #Deafblind #spoony with #serviceDogs who is thinking about perhaps moving there? #ClimateChange is making it hard almost impossible for me to continue living here so I'm looking at leaving in a year or 2. I have #LungDisease and need to live where the winters don't get too cold but also I don't want to live where there are hurricanes because thats why I'm leaving #NewOrleans.

I'm thinking of traveling to #Minneapolis with Phoenix, my #ServiceDog in may to have adventures. I'm looking for recommendations of fun #Accessible #Deaf #deafblind #spoony friendly things to do. Mostly love museums and theater. I really love it when I can ask for an ASL interpreter and people aren't jerks! Lol! Anyone got any good suggestions?

Hey #spoonies, does anyone else end up having dreams where their chronic shit ends up getting in the way /in the dream/?
(boosts okay)

Good morning.
Like with #spoony a decade ago, I've found myself immediately adopting the langauge from this infographic to describe myself and my situation/disability.
Today is a level 3. I'm hoping with rest and self care I can get it down to a level 2. But kids are likely to bump me to level 4 if I'm not careful.

God. It's the first pounding rain of the summer.
Ideally, I'd go out and run around in it, because I LOVE the feel of rain like this.
But I'm too hypersensitive right now and it would be hell instead of heaven.
#actuallyautistic things #spoony
(Okay, the rain has tapered off already as it usually does early in the season. SO I couldn' thave made it downstairs in time anyway. Still.... )

Kidling has toy kitchen will all kinds of plastic foods and utensils and stuff.
Nesting partner says she is out of spoons. Kidling goes over to toy kitchen, rummages around for a few minutes and hands nesting partner a handful of toy spoons.
"There! You have LOTS of spoons."

Don't have time/spoons this morning, but will try to transcribe image text later. (Sorry again!)
