Spent a happy couple of hours in the community wood shop using their bandsaw and belt sander. I'm pleased to report that not only do I still have all my fingers, the band saw did not break on me! In the 3 years since I was last there they have got a newer band saw.
Boyfriend had a maple tree removed and saved me the wood, so these are nice and green still. The friendly chap in the wood shop thinks it is silver maple, it smelled like pancakes and syrup when it was on the belt sander.
This will be cooking spoons, spatulas, two scoops, several butter spreaders, and some spoons. Looks like the wood had started to spalt a bit while it was waiting to be sawn up.
Some of this is going in the freezer for later.
