Cable management
My job requires me periodically to be able to send an HDMI signal great distances, so I ordered a nice set of balun devices and a 250-foot coil of Cat-6 Ethernet cable. For years, I've just kept this cable rolled up in a box. WHY did I never think to pick up one of these spools instead? Even has awesome little flanges on the side so I don't have to unroll the entire length to be able to connect one side to my computer.

Короче, у меня для вас есть два решения как избегать такой хуйни не покупая бесполезные катушки, которые потом придётся выкинуть.
1. Покупаем мотки на 1.2 килограмма вместо привычного килограмма и вот они садятся прямо как влитые.
2. Печатаем ещё один паддинг. Только в этот раз не втулку, которую я печатал из эластичного TPU-95A для того чтобы мотки плотно садились на катушку, а боковой - который можно будет насадить на втулку рядом с мотком и не давать ему рассосаться по свободному пространству, которое остаётся на катушке. Ну либо ищем/делаем катушку поуже.
Лично я буду применять оба варианта в зависимости от того какой пластик мне нужен - ведь не любой пластик можно найти в мотках на 1.2 кг.

After breakfast, Kasseh slapped her knees. "Alright! Let's go!"
"Where are you going?" Cecelia asked, clearing the table.
"Oh! Nowhere," Kasseh said. "Today, I'm making gold chain."
"Ooh! Can I watch?"
Surprised, Kasseh looked at her, then smiled. "Sure. It's just kind of tedious."
They walked downstairs to her workshop.
"Can you hand me that #spool of wire?" Kasseh pointed to a shelf.
Cecelia went to pick it up but nearly dropped it with surprise.
"It's so heavy!"

I've been pondering the peculiar choice of a 600g polystyrene spool for 2kg of filament. It strikes me as odd that 30% of the plastic I get ends up being for the spool itself. 🤔
While the PETG filament is genuinely top-notch, I find myself hesitant to repurchase this size due to the spool's material.
On a brighter note, I appreciate that the 1kg spools are crafted from cardboard - a step in the right direction for sustainability.
