  1. Just finished Episode 3 of Season 3 of Babylon 5.

Brief spoiler-free recap of season 2: Well, lets start off by dropping a bombshell, and now, looks like it's been long enough, let's drop another, and another, and another...

This series is entirely unhinged in a good way. I'm sure the ending will disatisfy me in some way--it's American television after all, and I've already seen some of the indications, but I'm still surprised that they went as far as they did. Definitely a lot of Deep Space Nine parallels but I think in many ways Deep Space Nine played it safer in terms of its themes than Babylon 5.

Seems it was also an early example of a show switching up the intro scene early and often. Due to the nature of the narration, they're full of spoilers, though, so I wouldn't recommend watching them before reaching the season they are for unless you're okay with spoilers. But so far I feel like each gets more dramatic than the last. Love the season 3 intro.

  2. 10-second spoiler-free movie review: "Disclosure Day" (2026)

A very good film - not perfect, but very good. Mixes scifi and action-thriller well. I didn't know it was directed by Spielberg until the end - it avoided his usual Disney-fication of subject matter. Probably the best scifi I've seen since "Arrival" (2016).

An excellent cast with great performances. Highly recommended.

  3. Geez, it's been a while since I did one of these.

    Spoiler-free 10 second movie review: "Normal" (2025)

It's fun. Treads familiar ground without too many innovations, but Bob Odenkirk is hard to dislike, and there are some standout performances from other actors. Action-(dark)-comedy, set in Minnesota and filmed in Manitoba.

It was good. Go see it.

Not perfect, but it makes sense. Sums things up. Has plenty of fan service. There are some decisions I think were unnecessary, but it’s fine. I did NOT expect the Jar Jar twist, but it all makes sense now.
