@mattblaze for context on what this is about, it's part of claiming that the Unite the Right nazi rally was a hoax orchestrated by SPLC and ultimately cheated Trump out of a second term in 2020 because it made him look bad and inspired Biden to run. And more broadly that modern American nazis aren't real and that therefore the current regime is totally not nazi.

Where far-right research is concerned, Heidi Beirich has been one of the adults in the room for a long time. Both her knowledge of the stuff she writes about as well as her institutional knowledge about how this research has been done over at least a couple of decades are invaluable. There is at least one novel written by a neo-nazi that involves a fairly detailed scene that I can only describe as a fantasy about murdering her, which is, if anything, a testament to how much they fear her.
The charges, needless to say, are total nonsense, and donors to the Southern Poverty Law Center have already been speaking up publicly to say that, yes, they were in fact aware of how that money was being used. That's why they were making those donations in the first place. (It's also telling that the Trump admin could have chosen to make an issue of, say, SPLC's union busting or the racism and sexual harassment of some of its old leadership, but chose instead to prosecute them for doing the thing that they were supposed to be doing all along.)
At any rate, this is a giant, steaming pile of bullshit, and she's got all of my support.
