Had a marathon Sunday 4-player spirit island board game sesh. We won, although it was a total shambles - I played Bringer of Dreams and Nightmares, which I did not know is actually incapable of killing anything. Felt useless the entire game until managing to string together a 41 fear combo to win the game.

Deal out a shuffled deck of cards (Math it so there is enough cards for each player and flop deck to play a full hand and work through them all)
Each player accrues points based on value of hand (valuation tbd)
At point thresholds, players select perks that boost scoring.

Played the #SpiritIsland boardgame this afternoon with some pals; four players, took us about 3 hours, almost 4, as a very patient person expertly discussed the how-to's and such. We only played with one expansion, and seeing as how we had a lot of fun, I'm very much looking forward to playing again!
Love a new co-op game and maybe, eventually, we'll get a couple more buddies to jump in to max out at six players. Eventually, haha. We're still learning how to play!

Man, the #tariffs are really screwing over the #boardgaming community. A $15 billion (2023) annual US market, circling down the drain.
It's hard to keep track of everyone with current unfulfilled #kickstarters, but anyone sitting with products in China is most likely fucked. Which means the companies behind, #SpiritIsland #Gloomhaven #Wingspan #ShadowsofBrimstone #HoMM3 #Middara etc.
I hope the community can recover, but too many indies rely on the US market to survive (economies of scale).

Verdammt! Am Wochenende haben wir noch #SpiritIsland gespielt und darüber gesprochen dass es noch eine weitere Erweiterung geben soll. Eines meiner liebsten #Brettspiele, die hätte ich blind gekauft.
Jetzt lese ich dass #GreaterThanGames (der originale Verlag) ein Opfer der aktuellen US-Politik geworden ist und die Türen schließt. 🤬

While I've not played Compile, Spirit Island and Sentinels are the two games I play the most, so knowing that no further expansions will happen sucks.

Das #Brettspiel-Wochenende bei meiner Marburg-Bubble war schön 😌, ist aber leider schon wieder vorbei.
Es gab viel #SpiritIsland und u.a. Northgard, Root und 7 Wonders Duel. -
Played most of a game of Spirit Island with a friend on Sunday, but only got around to finishing out the game by myself tonight. Turns out we only had to finish out the round, then start the next round to win.
The setup:
The Kingdom of Brandenburg-Prussia, Level 1Myself: Serpent Slumbering Beneath the Island, a slow utility spirit that takes presence from other spirits to grow, eventually giving back energy, extra presence, and free major powers in return.
My friend: Breath of Darkness Down Your Spine, a fear-focused spirit that takes lone invaders to a void to generate fear.
