And uh... this one is not a bird.

I actually took this with a telephoto lens... after nearly running head first into said spider because this was BASICALLY IN FRONT OF MY FRONT DOOR

Anyway, I struggled to get the focus with the telephoto lens when I came back out; had to step back into the house to get it. But hey!

Unfortunately, my lack of knowledge of #spiders has left me stumped with this one, almost ghost-like, found rummaging around some fallen over mushroom stems at the base of a fallen oak. #googlelens doesn't seem to be able to help. Anyone more knowledgeable than me with an idea?

Not being an expert in anything arachnoid, I had to resort to #googlelens to tell me that this is probably a #Pisaura mirabilis spider, out on the hunt amongst the oak leaves on the ground.

Better shots of the Theraphosa apophysis juvenile this morning. I really hope it's female... Much prettier than the blondii I think, albeit rather more leggy.
