Remember when I arrived in Freiburg to attend #Spezi2026 and the hotel I booked through Booking.com told me they'd given my reserved room to someone else?

I think I knew about the Pony 4 when I was trying to decide on a quadricycle to buy, but I think perhaps the cost was an impediment at the time or maybe just getting it to the US during the pandemic supply line issues...
I took a test ride of one at #Spezi2026. Unfortunately, the boom wasn't adjusted well for me so I wasn't getting full extension of my legs. Still, it seems like a good quad and with Velove no longer selling to the public...

@rand @ascentale @bikenite Yeah, my experience at #Spezi2026 in Freiburg was surprising that way. When I arrived in Freiburg late at night, I had to switch from train to tram. I wanted to pay and couldn't figure out how. No one offered to help me. I was expecting the stereotypical German rules-bound enforcement, but no one was enforcing the ticket rule.
The whole time I was there, I saw no ticket-checkers.I think the attitude probably *is* that it's better that ppl be on pubtrans than drive.

@ascentale @bikenite A8. I couldn't upload that much from #Spezi2026 when I was still on the move. So now I get to choose one to post in answer to the weekly photo cue.
Spezi is the best cycle show I've been to, besting even the Recumbent Cycle Con I attended 10 or so years ago. Great opportunities for disabled cyclists, but also plenty of abled cyclists enjoying the spectrum of what's available in human-powered and e-assist vehicles.

Another entrant for the innovation prize at #Spezi2026 (they chose the winner by audience vote by 3pm today but I haven't seen the results yet).
I talked to the inventor yesterday, not even knowing he was not just a product purveyor. He formerly worked for Carla Cargo and saw a niche he thought needed addressing. Years ago, when there were no folding recumbents on the market, Juliane Neuss invented and sold an after-market kit for the Brompton to convert it into a folding recumbent. I bought one (and lost it in the move).
She went on to found junik and they were at #Spezi2026 Didn't see the woman herself, but she's still innovating to help fulfill niche needs.
