@ascentale @bikenite A8. I couldn't upload that much from #Spezi2026 when I was still on the move. So now I get to choose one to post in answer to the weekly photo cue.
Spezi is the best cycle show I've been to, besting even the Recumbent Cycle Con I attended 10 or so years ago. Great opportunities for disabled cyclists, but also plenty of abled cyclists enjoying the spectrum of what's available in human-powered and e-assist vehicles.

It telescopes down to pocket size and would work on wheelchairs, bicycles, and velomobiles

Wir waren mit einer kleinen Gruppe auf der #spezi2026 Spezialradmesse in Freiburg. Wahnsinn was es alles gibt. Und auf der Teststrecke gab es viele leuchtende Augen.

Another entrant for the innovation prize at #Spezi2026 (they chose the winner by audience vote by 3pm today but I haven't seen the results yet).
I talked to the inventor yesterday, not even knowing he was not just a product purveyor. He formerly worked for Carla Cargo and saw a niche he thought needed addressing. This cycle trailer can convert to a handcart and has a motion sensor to follow what/who's towing it, among other features. https://goodmotion.de/

Years ago, when there were no folding recumbents on the market, Juliane Neuss invented and sold an after-market kit for the Brompton to convert it into a folding recumbent. I bought one (and lost it in the move).
She went on to found junik and they were at #Spezi2026 Didn't see the woman herself, but she's still innovating to help fulfill niche needs.

This is one of the people/teams competing for an innovation prize at #Spezi2026. A recumbent trike you can make mostly from wood. "Open source" (I put it in quotes because I know definitions vary and I'm not clear which one this uses).
I'm told the cost was about 1,200, but that is a lot less than a similar recumbent trike with a metal welded frame would cost for materials (not to mention the labor time, skills).

Ended up getting some accessories at #Spezi2026 at the last min. Saw the Fahrer booth and started asking questions about the straps. I've used reflective Velcro straps to keep my jeans legs in, but they always eventually pop off while I'm on the road and not noticing.
Fahrer makes a "Mini strap" (it's actually 70cm!) that has a metal strap thingie and the hi-viz yellow strap itself is reflective. €14 a pair
They also make a ball carrier you could use for melons.

One said "Ride & Shine" with just text. One was a design in the style of what's on the Spezi site right now showing a cargo bike and saying "rise and shine" under. Another shows a velomobile and another shows a folding bike.

Home early again from Spezi. There's only so much I can do per day, especially when there's a significant walk (for me) from the hotel to the conference hall and back.
Had a great time meeting fellow Mastodonians @spmrider @miq and @FolksVelo, the latter of whom has the photoevidence.
And spotted @RostundRad again on the way out!
Will be posting more pics as I can catch up with things!

I pitched a presentation to #Spezi2026 on how abled-led cycling advocacy results in ableist cycle infrastructure and how to change that. They said they were interested, but had the schedule locked in for this year.
I see now they have a presentation in German on the inaccessibility in cycling. I may attend even though I don't understand much German...

This note on the Natural Science museum's page makes me wonder if it was needed because bike theft is high in Freiburg and therefore people bring their cycles inside, or whether it is because there's not enough sheltered accessible cycle parking at the museum.
