Had an odd social media encounter this week. An old classmate- one of the smartest, if not the smartest of my peers in grad school - became a #SpeechLanguagePathologist and then later quit because she was disillusioned by the lack of evidence behind many practices. A fair enough criticism. A couple of years ago she talked with me about getting her license back and returning to practice. Haven’t heard from her. Now she pops up on Facebook with a “please support my new business” post as she is doing Vedic birth chart interpretations - which she describes as a “proven science.”
Sigh.
