Tomorrow should be interesting. I'm going in to the audiologist for an annual review of my audiogram and also APD (auditory processing disorder).

This will be helpful for my new speech therapist (SLP) that I meet the next day.

I've been kinda neglecting my APD since getting good at reading lips and closed captions, but think I can still do better to aid in comprehension in conversations with humans.

While a physical dictionary is helpful for shared knowledge, your personal mental dictionary is customized based on your individual experiences. What words are in my mental dictionary might overlap with the mental dictionary of someone else who also speaks the same language, but there will also be a lot of differences between the content of our dictionaries.

Being able to communicate, being understood, and having access to the right tools to be able to communicate effectively is a human right.

It's certainly the cause of many people's meltdowns, shutdowns and poor mental health.
