Another special interest… 🎶
...for as long as this one will last... 😉 I have mentioned in previous posts, but for those that just came across this post, I will share a bit about it... Due to the way my brain works at times, I get these special interests, where I can be focused, almost obsessed even, on something. When I was re-reading the Dan Brown "Robert Langdon" book series at the end of last year, early this year, I was all into the movies and several of the songs. Before that, I was all focussed on laying puzzles. And now, after waking up one night, with a song from the movie of "Evita" (1996) in my head... And since then, I have watched the movie, even grabbed a better quality version, as the DVD didn't look that nice on my TV (and it didn't have English subs), and I have listened to the soundtrack on Qobuz many times. And, I know it's not the best movie, and I have never been a huge Madonna fan... But there is something about that soundtrack that just has me in its grip. For as long as this obsession will last... Losing interest
Before I was diagnosed with AuDHD, I always wondered why I could be very interested, fixated even, on certain things for a few very intense moments, and then, suddenly without cause, just totally lose that interest... I had never heard about hyperfocus and/or "autistic special interests" (more about that here). I just could not understand it. And it annoyed me a lot, especially when the fixation/focus had made me invest (money) in this interest, and then it "just" ends... I've been browsing the web a bit about this, and tried to collect some info on it. I know that the autistic side deals differently with the interests compared to the ADHD side. And, of couse, these two mix it up. I found several things, copied them all, and then... I cheated a bit... 🫣I copied all the bits I found interesting into an AI app, and asked if it could compile a nice list for me. I know, people don't like this. But, these days, due to missing my usual routine, due to all the last-minute extra things here and there, I am just so low on spoons... So, I'd rather be honest about having asked it for help. I think this is an #autism, #actuallyautistic or #actuallyadhd question but does anyone feel alienated because no one is as invested in their interests as you are? For an example, I’m a huge #swiftie and know lots about Taylor Swift and her music. It makes me excited.
Does anyone feel as though the level and intensity that they invest in their interests alienates them.
I’m feeling very alienated have no friends. Hope I get some feedback soon.

#Western #Society is seperatist by nature. Seperated by gender, seperated by people groups, seperated by age.
As each group remains seperated, they are easily targeted by #thinktanks, #specialinterests and #politicalinterests.
The markets demand competition to death, and the governments demand eternal growth. Paranoia and narcissism are common, as is personality disorders.
This is why power from the ground up is necessary, why organization on the ground level is required.

Sometimes I dream of a mod for #thesims career mode (does that still exist in modern #sims4 ?) where you start out with a random collection of undiagnosed #neurodivergent traits and you have to figure out what your Sim's #specialinterests are, what triggers them etc. If you don't adress their additional needs they'll get depressed, have meltdowns, shutdowns etc. It'll probably be frustrating as fuck to play, but that's kind of the point.

How do #Hyperfixations form for you? Mine usually go hand in hand with my #SpecialInterests. If something picks up my special interests in a well-made way, I can probably already tell that it's going to be a hyperfixation.
