In The Sea Around Us, #RachelCarson says that it is well known in Europe that #oysters reach their peak #spawning activities during a spring tide. Is this also true of oysters in NYC? I know they tend to spawn when the waters are warm. A spring tide would mean a strong flood which would bring in lots of food.

Visited Inglis Falls at the weekend. A little downriver, we stumbled across a place where the #salmon were jumping the rapids to get their #spawning ground. It's quite an incredible thing to witness!

As I explained a few days ago here https://masto.ai/@cybeardjm/110441686417732106 the sites I manage were all scanned multiple times for an AI.TXT file (resulting in 404 errors).
A few companies/orgs have decided to create a "standard" like robots.txt or ads.txt but for #AI crawling of websites.

They offer a "generator" to create your own ai.txt that's supposed to be placed at the root of sites: https://site.spawning.ai/spawning-ai-txt
And they even created a special plugin for #WordPress on #Github https://github.com/Spawning-Inc/spawning-wp-plugin
Mainly, the file contains "disallow" instructions on file types and some garbage ASCII design in a few comment lines.
There are a few problems here IMHO:
* is it safe to put such a "new" file at the root of any website?
* will it be respected, as so far just a handful of companies/orgs are supposed to have joined the org.
So far, I decided not to add the file, and instead used a "noai, noimageai" to inform robots in the header of pages, which might not be followed by crawlers...
And, I redirect all calls to ai.txt to 127.0.0.1 (for fun)...

This is apparently a little known fact. Some salmon can survive the trip upriver to spawn and return to the ocean. I wonder why this isn't mentioned more often.
