Ich hab noch 3 alte PCs (i3 3xx, i5 2xx und i5 8xx) als Datengräber und Spielzeug am Start.
Der aktuellste i5 mit Fedora, die beiden anderen mit Sparky. Sparky hab ich auch auf zwei älteren Notebooks am Laufen und ich mag diese kleine, polnische Distribution sehr.
Selbst die semi rolling Version, die immer die Beta von Debian als Basis hat, ist überraschend stabil und der Wechsel von Kernel und Oberflächen ist sehr komfortabel gelöst.

So, Sparky 8 stable (auf Basis von Debian Trixie) ist installiert. Funktionierte out of the box, nur die Firmware von nem Ralink WLAN Modul musste ich nachinstallieren, war aber kein Problem.
Fotos und Videodateien sind drauf.
Jetzt Übergabe und dann kann die Kiste auf den Weg nach Siebenbürgen ins Museum.
Wieder ein paar Karmapunkte geerntet.

Ich habe schon seit Erscheinen #Sparky #Linux V8 (Debian Trixie, semirolling) ohne jegliche Probleme auf dem alten Hündchen laufen.
Okay, Prozessorgrafik, nur für Büro, Medien, Kommunikation und Shisen Sho in Gebrauch.
(freue mich schon auf die nächste #Debian #Beta)
Heute habe ich ihm auch den #Kernel 6.14.2 spendiert.
Läuft stabil.
Man gönnt sich ja sonst nix.

I used to rely on the #RedHat system in the productivity platform and manage my business on my main computer and I relied on the #Sparky #Linux distribution in my second machine because they are strong, solid and stable.
Today I moved to the #Fedora system, which is the most powerful and latest GNU Linux distributions ...
Actually better than #Debian...

@carmenbianca @samueljohnson @egeexyz after being a team member of several such derived distros my conclusion was to use the base distro, like #Debian, #Arch, #Slackware.

However it's important to differentiate between distros that alter the base and distros that don't. Or do it minimally. Test is if you remove derived child distro sources you can return to base eg #Garuda #Endeavor > Arch, #MX #antiX #Sparky > Debian with minimal issues.

I learned this the hard way.
