Today I learned that #SpamHaus doesn't work with IPv6: I get an "open resolver" error even though I haven't exposed my DNS server to the outside world—just by using IPv6—because SpamHaus is worried that users might bypass rate limiting by constantly changing their IP addresses, so it blocks ISPs that assign /64 or /56 blocks to their customers...
So on one hand, we have IPv6, which is there to provide plenty of IP addresses, and on the other, a service that refuses IPv6 because of it 🤦♂️

I bought a domain on Porkbun, use Linode as the DNS and Purelymail for mail.
Spamhaus has my domain blocked, and I have no idea how to get off the list. I tried reducing whois privacy on Porkbun. I contacted Spamhaus them twice.
Spamhaus won't give a reason, but mxtoolbox states Spamhaus says " Reason for listing - We were unable to find an IP Address for THE-DOMAIN." But what does that even mean? DNS A record? To where? Purelymail?
Any tips on how to get the domain unlisted?

Who lives at Spamhaus and what's there beef with my server? Is it even possible to have beef with spam, isn't it primarily a pork product?
Reading their site... a whole lot of stuff about email, except I don't use my server for email at all. So why they spamming my spammy spam with spam spamming spams?
My head hurts.

We've built another #firewall script, now running on all of our #servers. This one pulls the #Spamhaus list of spammy & malicious ASNs, uses our #ASN Lookup #API to convert each into IP lists, & adds those IPs to an #IPTables firewall chain.
Like with our other firewall scripts, this is #FOSS that you can grab for your own servers! You'll need an access key from our API portal for the lookups with this one, but they're only $8 for unlimited lookups! 😉

We're at the point culturally where we have to accept that, much like #uce / #spam, #AISlop will remain widespread.
How might we have a scoring system ala #spamhaus implemented by a trusted third party/nonprofit to recognize sites that've succumbed to #enshittification via #llm / #generativeAI so we can blacklist domains and warn the user before they visit a site?

tfw you can't get the verification code sent by your health insurance company to your email because the IP address it's coming from is listed in Spamhaus AND the email they're sending violates their enforcing DMARC policy. *sigh*

Third time @spamhaus is blocking my foss projects mail server for vague unspecified reasons ("reputation", "neighborhood", "hosting providers", "dns servers")
At this point @spamhaus you're the malicious party on the internet. If you have specific problems with specific providers just list them so we can avoid them. Am I supposed to keep migrating providers until I find something that you won't randomly flag?

Si votre IP est blacklistée par Spamhaus, sachez que la procédure de déblocage est automatique. Le message d'explication obligatoire n'est pas lu.
De plus ils rejettent tout un tas d'adresses "exotiques"

Pour remplir le formulaire il faut utiliser une adresse reconnue par les GAFAM. Peu importe si elle n'est pas liée à votre serveur. J'ai dû utiliser celle du bureau (pas bien)
